2023 Volunteer Council Accomplishments
Annual Conference Council
AAOE 2023 Annual Conference
- 464 registrations and 406 attendees
- 166 vendors with positive reviews
- Exceeded hotel room block obligation (106%)
- Saved money on food & beverage through use of budgeting and trend analysis
- 54 education sessions with over 55% of sessions provided by member speakers
- Successful 2nd reception with Carnival theme
Advocacy Council
- Continued work with MGMA and AAOS
- Restarting engagement with OrthoForum
- 5 letters sent on our behalf by LobbyIt
- 59 legislative visits held on Zoom
Data Analytics and Benchmarking Council
- 104 Practices participated in the Benchmarking Survey for Data Year 2022
- AAOE provided $28,147 in incentives to members to encourage participation in the AAOE Benchmarking Survey
- The incentives included gift cards, Annual Conference registration, and free access to the Benchmarking Results
- Benchmarking Results for Data Year 2022 were released in September 2023, which was earlier than previous years
- Benchmarking reports were updated to utilize more dashboard formats and to reduce the need for filtering in the online reporting platform
- Revenue generated through purchases of the Benchmarking Results in Calendar Year 2023 ($57,190) exceeded the previous year ($40,225)
Education Council
- Reintroduction of the Education Council
- PM101 Launched with 8 Modules and a partnership with Enovis
- Successful Virtual Women in Practice Management Conference with 66 registrants
- Content Calendar implemented and 2024 topics finalized
- This direction has provided several new educational offers that are live and then saved as resources as a benefit to AAOE Members.
- The program is only growing in 2024
- Reviewed almost 90 Conference Submissions for 2024 Conference
Industry Relations Advisory Board
- IRAB Members promoted AAOE membership and Annual Conference registration at state and regional conferences such as:
- FL Bones
- MGMA
- Midwest AAOE
Membership Council
- Regular discussion of orthopaedic landscape issues
- Participated in "Maximizing the Value of Your AAOE Membership" session at 2023 Conference and will do at 2024 Conference as well
- Provided input to website language for both general needs and the conference
- Reviewed potential member discount programs/products as need
- Carried out new member calls when requested
- Reviewed job description and resources on the Collaborate community library
- Participated in the "The 3Cs" efforts for the conference, Collaborate and the content calendar
- Council involvement in the Member Engagement webinar in March
Young and New Professionals Committee
- Developed, promoted and held the Inaugural Young & New Professionals virtual roundtable
- A second was also held and they will continue quarterly. Additionally, the committee will host an in-person roundtable at the 2024 Annual Conference
- Outreach continued to local colleges and universities, as well as new members
- Reviewed and provided input on "how to convince your boss to attend" language for the conference website
- Created Y&NP educational track for both the 2023 and 2024 Annual Conference
- Committee member volunteer involvement at the Hive
