Samantha Julias, MS-HSA
Chief Operating Officer, Vero Orthopaedics

Samantha received her Bachelor of Science from Florida Southern College in Athletic Training and worked for seven years in multiple settings such as action sports, physical therapy, high school sports, and in a physician’s clinic. Enjoying the challenges of the physician’s office, Samantha obtained her Master of Science in Health Services Administration from the University of Central Florida. After graduation she was hired at Orlando Orthopaedic Center (OOC) and began by opening and managing a walk-in clinic before stepping in to run multiple other departments. Recently, Samantha joined Vero Orthopaedics as the Director of Finance and Business Development.

Brent Norton
Executive Director, Ellis & Badenhausen Orthopaedics, PSC

Brent Norton, MEd, MHA, ATC, is an experienced healthcare executive and licensed athletic trainer. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Ellis & Badenhausen Orthopaedics in Louisville, KY, Brent oversees human resources, operations, financial management, marketing, property management, and vendor negotiations for a multi-location specialty group. His leadership includes implementing strategic growth initiatives, ensuring compliance, and facilitating practice transitions such as the adoption of electronic health records.

Brent holds a Master of Health Administration and a Master of Education in Sports Administration, with additional certifications in athletic training and CPR/First Aid. His expertise spans human resources, vendor contract negotiation, community outreach, and IT infrastructure, reflecting a dynamic career in healthcare management and sports medicine.

 

Michael McMahon, MS, MHA, ATC, CMPE
Orthopedic Clinic and Program Manager, Mammoth Hospital

Mike McMahon is a healthcare administrator, orthopedic program leader, and certified athletic trainer with extensive experience in orthopedic clinic operations, sports medicine, and physician practice management. He holds a Master of Healthcare Administration & Management with a specialization in Project Management from Colorado State University and a Master of Science in Athletic Training from Weber State University.

Mike currently serves as the Orthopedic Clinic & Program Manager at Mammoth Hospital, where he has led significant advancements in orthopedic care, including the development of an ACGME-accredited fellowship program and a hospital-based athletic training outreach program. His expertise spans electronic medical records (EMR) optimization, surgical informatics, and revenue cycle management, ensuring efficient, high-quality patient care.

An active advocate for athletic trainers in physician practice settings, Mike is a long-standing member of the Athletic Trainers in the Physician Practice Society (ATPPS), where he serves on the Conference Committee. He is also a Certified Medical Practice Executive (CMPE) and an engaged member of the American Association of Orthopedic Executives (AAOE), the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), and the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).

In addition to his administrative and clinical expertise, Mike is a Rotational Athletic Trainer for the U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association, providing elite athlete care at high-performance events. He has also contributed to humanitarian medical missions, sports medicine research, and faculty education in advanced sports medicine programs.

With a passion for integrating athletic training into physician practice models, Mike brings valuable insights into clinical operations, patient access, and the evolving role of athletic trainers in orthopedic settings. His expertise in workflow optimization, program development, and multidisciplinary team collaboration makes him a sought-after speaker and industry thought leader.
