Professional Bio
Dr. Steve Holtzclaw became CEO of USOP in January 2024, bringing extensive leadership experience from his previous roles. As CEO of Alteon Health, one of the nation’s largest physician-led acute care groups, he demonstrated transformative leadership, while also serving as President of Hospital-Based Services at TeamHealth, where he drove the growth of business relationships, clinician engagement, organizational development, and financial performance.
Dr. Holtzclaw began his career as an EMT/paramedic and holds undergraduate degrees in business administration and biology. He earned his medical degree from the University of Maryland and completed his emergency medicine residency at Johns Hopkins University, where he later served as an instructor. He continues to practice medicine there monthly, mentoring the next generation of medical professionals.
