2022 Council Reports

Annual Conference Council

  • Successfully conducted a 2nd conference in Chicago from April 28-May 2, 2022 just 6 months after the 2021 Annual Conference.
  • Brought back the Hive as a resource for new members.
  • 329 people in attendance.
  • Net profit from the Conference was $382,000.
  • 158 vendors - full exhibit hall with great feedback on the event.
  • 56 education sessions, with over 60% of sessions provided by member speakers.

Advocacy Council

  • Added lobbyist firm to assist with letter writing and tracking of advocacy items.
  • Expanded the number of members on the council.
  • Maintained a high level of advocacy work for AAOE.

Data Analytics and Benchmarking Council

  • 101 practices participated in the Data Year 2021 survey, which was an increase from the previous year (79 surveys submitted).
  • Benchmarking Results were released in October and included several new reports and dashboards.
  • Benchmarking participants and purchasers can access the results online or within a downloadable eBook.
  • The price for purchasing the Benchmarking Results was increased to align with the value provided and to further encourage survey participation.
  • The Results eBook included an Executive Summary and an interpretation of results in several key areas.
  • The Benchmarking Survey for Data Year 2022 will be released in February 2023.
  • AAOE entered into a licensing agreement to allow for ongoing improvements to Empower.

Industry Relations Advisory Board

  • Stronger social media presence and outreach, cross posting with vendors to maximize reach.
  • Added more speed meetings and other conference requests to support vendors.
  • Peer Review program working well and recognized as a strong differentiator by vendors.

Membership Council

  • Facilitated New to Networking Calls in partnership with Young & New Professionals Committee December thru March.
  • Annual Conference: Submitted a panel discussion "Maximizing the Value of Your AAOE Membership" session at 2023 Conference.
  • Established criteria for reviewing Member Discounts and reviewed products accordingly.

Young and New Professionals Council

  • Series of emails to Y&NP with relevant conference recordings, introductory videos to Council members and more free content as well as conference related events.
  • Y&NP Track created and advertised for 2023 conference.
  • Assisted with development and acting as facilitators for New to Networking calls.
