Foundations of Orthopedic Practice Management: Revenue Cycle Management

Description

Revenue Cycle Management is the lifeblood of an orthopedic practice. Just as it takes a team to care for the whole health of each patient, it takes a team to contribute to the health of the practice’s revenue cycle. After all, that’s how you get paid for what you do.

In this module, you’ll hear about the important parts of the revenue cycle including everything from registration, insurance eligibility, authorizations, and collecting payments, to documentation, coding and tracking claims, and following up on denied claims. You will leave this session understanding how each person plays a role in filing successful billing claims and getting paid for your work.

Learning Objectives

When the learner has completed this module, they will be able to:

  • Define the phases of the revenue cycle.
  • Describe the importance of accurate health claims and payment data to the revenue cycle.
  • Respond sensitively and knowledgably to patients who struggle with insurance and payment issues.
