Foundations of Orthopedic Practice Management: The Patient Journey

Description

Every patient you meet is different, and they all require special attention. In this session, you will meet three patients who illustrate real life situations you may encounter from day to day in your job. The way you meet the challenges at each step will have an effect on your relationship with the patient and their satisfaction with your practice.

After this module, you will know how to greet and treat the patient; steps common to all patient encounters in an orthopedic practice; how unique patient characteristics can impact treatment and outcomes; examples of patient differentiators; and effective communication tactics for different types of patients.

Learning Objectives

When the learner has completed this module, they will be able to:

  • Meet and greet each patient appropriately considering their age, medical status and other personal attributes.
  • Name the variables that they may encounter with each patient.
  • Contribute to a positive experience for each patient.
