New AAOE & AAOS Collaboration
Assisting the Orthopaedic Profession with
Enhanced Data Collection for Improved Patient Care
The American Association of Orthopaedic Executives (AAOE) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) have come together with AAOE Empower and the AAOS Registry Program to benefit orthopaedic surgeons and practicing sites.
The collaboration will allow AAOE to support orthopaedic practice executives with submitting their data to AAOS Registries and reuse their AAOE Empower data.
Participation in this collaboration supports the use of data to improve practice management, patient care, and quality of orthopaedic care.
Collaboration Benefits:
- AAOE supports the transfer of PROM data to AAOS to facilitate registry submissions to CMS for the quality, promoting interoperability, and improvement activity categories for MIPS.
- AAOS Registry Program participants can reuse Registry data and receive up to 10 Self Assessment Exam (SAE) credits per year towards Maintenance of Certification.
- AAOE Empower participants select from over 10 PROMs, 3 satisfaction surveys, and receive advanced insights to drive decision making and quality improvement.
- AAOS Registry Program participants recognized in Annual Reports for their commitment to data-driven quality improvement.
"We are excited to be collaborating with AAOE and supporting orthopaedic practices to maximize the insights they receive from their data. Surgeons and their administrators will be able to harness the power of the procedural and quality data collected by the AAOS Registry Program with the patient satisfaction, outcome, and operational data available in AAOE Empower. Additionally, AAOE Empower will support submissions for its users to AAOS, so that sites can use this data to improve the quality of patient care and qualify for national reporting programs."
- AAOS President, Joseph A. Bosco III, MD, FAAOS
