Alissa Ashley-High and Cindy Murray Join AAOE Board of Directors
AAOE named two new directors at its 2024 annual conference. Alissa Ashley-High, MHA, CMPE, LPN, is the Practice Administrator for Orthopaedic Associates of Marlborough in Marlborough, Massachusetts. Cindy Murray, PT, MBA is the Regional Vice President of Practice Operations at United Musculoskeletal Partners in Carrollton, Texas.
About Alissa
Alissa is the practice administrator at Orthopaedic Associates of Marlborough, where she has worked for over seven years. As an administrator of a small practice, Alissa is involved in every aspect of the practice, from the clinical and administrative frontlines to the revenue cycle team behind the scenes. Alissa started her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse working in rehabilitation centers as a charge nurse. She obtained her master's degree in healthcare administration and pursued a career in practice management with a growing urgent care system before transitioning to be a practice administrator in orthopedics.
Since 2017, Alissa has been a member of AAOE and has volunteered on several committees, including the Young and New Professionals Committee, Membership Committee, Advocacy Council, Education Committee, and Annual Conference Committee. In her free time, Alissa is married to an emergency medicine physician and is a mother to two elementary school-aged girls. She is an active member of her children's PTO and enjoys traveling with her family, especially to the beaches of Cape Cod and Virginia Beach. In the winter, they enjoy skiing and other snowy activities.
About Cindy
Cindy Murray, PT, MBA is the Regional VP, Practice Operations for United Musculoskeletal Partners. She is currently over two North Texas orthopedic practices, OrthoTexas Physicians and Surgeons and North Texas Orthopedics. The two groups are comprised of 7 locations, over 250 employees and 26 physicians. This includes orthopedic surgeons, pain management, advanced practice practitioners, and Physical and Occupational Therapists. Prior to this role, she served as the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer for OrthoTexas for 4.5 years. Cindy has worked at OrthoTexas since 1998. She practiced as a licensed Physical Therapist in Texas until she transitioned from her clinical practice in 2018 to focus solely on administrative roles.
During her entire career, Cindy Murray has specialized in both the clinical, administrative, and regulatory aspects of outpatient orthopedics. She has presented for the Texas Medical Association, Texas Orthopedic Association, American Association of Orthopedic Executives (AAOE), American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO), at multiple OrthoForum and the Texas Orthopedic Administrators Society (T-Bones) annual conferences. In addition, she authored the “Workers Compensation Guide for Texas Physicians, 4th edition” for the Texas Medical Association.
Cindy graduated from Texas A&M University with a BS in health education, received her BS in physical therapy from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, and her MBA with a concentration in health care administration from Texas A&M University.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, daughter, and her horse. Cindy rides Dressage and competes when her schedule allows.
