Dr. Paul Bruning Named Volunteer of the Year and Winner of the 2023 President’s Award

Dr. Paul Bruning of Sutter Health in San Francisco, winner of both the 2024 AAOE Volunteer of the Year Award, and the 2024 President’s Award. He was a member of the AAOE Board of Directors from 2016 to 2018. During that time, he was instrumental in helping move the AAOE into a 501c(6) and worked to help strengthen the link between the AAOE and the AAOS. Paul has attended several NOLC Hit the Hill days and provided solid leadership on the Advocacy Council always trying to do what is best for the AAOE and its members. In 2020, Dr. Bruning was asked to take the Chair role for the Advocacy Council and has held that position since. Most recently, he has led the creation of an advocacy blog series and was instrumental in developing a new Advocacy for Orthopedic Professionals course.
