The 2024 presidential election has concluded, leaving a lasting impact on both national and global perspectives. This year's election cycle was characterized by significant voter engagement, advancements in voting methods, and a broader emphasis on issues that matter to a diverse electorate.

One of the hallmarks of this election was a continued trend of high voter turnout. Approximately 64% of eligible U.S. voters participated, reflecting sustained civic enthusiasm comparable to the 2020 election. States such as Minnesota and Wisconsin led the way, showcasing the power of grassroots mobilization and voter outreach efforts​ 

​This year's election also highlighted the enduring importance of voting accessibility. A mix of in-person, early, and mail-in voting options provided flexibility, allowing millions to participate despite logistical challenges​. 

At home, the election reinforced the importance of voter education and combating misinformation, challenges that election officials across the globe are also addressing.

The outcome revealed a closely divided electorate, with voter preferences influenced by economic concerns, environmental policies, healthcare, and social justice. Across demographics, key trends emerged: 

Suburban and urban areas leaned heavily on specific issues like education reform and infrastructure.

It is also important to recognize that while the Presidential election was the overwhelming talk of this election cycle that we must begin to focus on our local elections as well. Did you know that your school board can vote on tax breaks for seniors and veterans? Did you know that your state assembly is more likely to affect your day-to-day life and that at the most local level will have more of an impact on quality-of-life issues such as school bus cameras and routes, street repaving and the list can go on and on. Remember that these elections are just as if not more important to participate in. Local elections statistically have the lowest turnout rate resulting in continued policies that have a powerful effect to your daily lives.
